On Wednesday, February 10th at 9pm EST, Comic Art LIVE's Bill Cox presents the third episode of The Dueling Dealers of Comic Art. Structured like a prizefight, two Original Comic Art Dealers - Mike Burkey and our very own Anthony Snyder will go head- to-head for 12 rounds, with each offering 12 spectacular new artworks to the market, or artworks that are discounted only during the show. The main event will feature 4 rounds of artwork priced $500 or less, followed by 4 rounds priced $1,500 or less, with the final 4 rounds having comic artworks priced $3,000 or less. If time permits, both Dealers may show additional new artwork to market after the 12 rounds have finished, usually higher ticket items that haven't reached their sites yet, or are also discounted from their list price until midnight EST the night of the show. Each episode of The Dueling Dealers of Comic Art will last only 60 minutes, so you can anticipate each round to be filled with competitive banter and salesmanship, as both Dealers get the chance to present their artwork for sale to the audience. Neither Dealer will know what artworks the other is bringing to the bout, making each round more entertaining than the last. If you watched last week's show you can expect a lot more of the same! In cooperation with Jon Paul of the New Jersey Comic Book Cons and sponsored by Bill Cox of Comic Art Fans, on January 10th I�ll be putting on the first bi monthly, possibly monthly if it goes really well, �Anthony�s Comic Book Art: The Show!� I've been wanting to do this way before the Comic Art Con even started, for the sole reason of doing more live in-person business which is something I truly love doing and is one of the things I�ve lamented most about the pandemic. Now feels like the time, especially because there aren�t any big shows to do. I�ve rented the room at the Baymont by Wyndham and have to map out the space for the number of tables, but we are starting the tables at $60 per six feet. I�ll be giving the pro dealers the space they need then I�ll make tables available to the Comic Art Fans premium members. Come see my entire inventory of original artwork there with art by all the top tier artists such as Art Adams, Neal Adams, John Buscema, Sal Buscema, John Romita Jr., Nick Cardy, and so on. David Harold Hoover, formerly of Warrington, passed away Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, in Jamison. He was 56. He was the husband of Karen Hoover. They had been married for 22 years. Born in Berrysburg, Pa., he was a son of the late Gladys and Harold Hoover. David had a Master of Fine Arts degree in Computer Animation. He currently was an instructor at the Art Institute of Philadelphia, however he started his career as a layout artist working for Filmation Studios, Hanna Barberra, and Mihan Productions. He also worked at Sony Children's Television as a storyboard artist. He later worked for DC and Marvel Comics, illustrating the adventures of many superheroes including Captain America, Spiderman, Wolverine, Punisher, and many more. He was a collector of Tarzan memorabilia. He enjoyed biking, running, hiking and swinging on vines. David was an art enthusiast; and enjoyed old Western movies. In addition to his wife, Karen, he is survived by his daughters, Lauren Hoover and Alaina Hoover; his dog, Janey; and his two cats, Snickers and Lacey. David also is survived by his mother-in-law, Janet Freidel; his siblings, Gloria Shomper, Julie Nell, Jim Hoover, and Janis Hoover; and his loving nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
